Bakersfield College

The California-based public community college Bakersfield College is recognized for Energy Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (JDEI), which honors projects that incorporate JDEI practices or have a positive impact on disadvantaged communities. Bakersfield College installed a new HVAC system with increased zoning and occupancy controls in their Welcome Center which serves as a student-centric one-stop-shop for their academic needs. Innovation RibbonInnovation

Convenience store retailer Sheetz is recognized in the Innovation category, which honors innovative approaches to controls such as unique use of alarming and analytics. With a centralized view of the HVAC equipment at 700 stores (4.2 million square feet), they saw an average of 11% savings in whole building energy consumption. In addition, they have implemented an HVAC auditing process that enables the energy team to identify and resolve issues at sites before the BMS even alarms by reviewing HVAC operational data in custom dashboards.
