Abstract

The US DOE's EVGrid Assist provides technical assistance and informs research and development on vehicle-grid integration (VGI) to facilitate the rapid deployment of electric vehicles and the associated charging infrastructure by minimizing the impacts to the electric grid and helping electric utilities and regulators make planning and policy decisions. Berkeley Lab researchers presented on electric vehicle (EV) rates and incentives as part of the VGI Educational Webinar Series.  One presentation presents an introduction to cost of service regulation and rate design principles.  Another presentation presents an overview of EV rate design based on policy objectives and design elements.
